Suan Kachamudee is a boutique resort on the east coast of Koh Samui Island in Chaweng Noi, Thailand. Buildings are located on a hill with a breathtaking view, despite strong local constraints such as a slope over 50 percent; large, numerous boulders; and lush vegetation.
The main idea behind the project was to create a contrast between buildings and rocks. As a result, the dwellings appear as irregular sharp white blocks, heavily contrasting the site’s massive round black granite stones. The buildings are split into various units and distributed along the slope, minimizing the density perception and fitting in among the existing granite rocks.
The guests arrive in the reception area within the spa building, where they get a glimpse of the amazing surrounding sea views. The path leads them to the main building, with a swimming pool located in the core. The bedroom units, with their own private terraces, are spread around the property.
This resort is definitely a place where everyone would love to spend in even only one night.
